ALSA launches a campaign to attract female talent to the driving profession.

Madrid, August 26, 2019. - Demonstrating its commitment to female employment, the passenger transport company ALSA has launched a campaign this summer to attract female talent to the profession of bus driver, addressing the shortage of women wanting to work as professional drivers, despite the high unemployment rates, especially among young people, in our country.

To this end, it has wrapped 70 of the company's buses with the message "We want you to drive this bus", with the aim of inviting women, especially the unemployed, to seek a job opportunity and join the company as drivers.

The transport sector is a traditionally male sector, in which women are underrepresented. Faced with this reality, ALSA wants to be a pioneer in changing this situation and is committed to promoting the employment and presence of women in all areas of the company, breaking down the barriers that hinder women's access to these jobs and promoting effective equality between men and women in the sector.

For Juan Antonio Esteban, Director of Human Resources at ALSA, "we are working to increase the number of women in our organization. With campaigns like this, we seek to raise awareness, break stereotypes and attract female talent to a sector in which women are underrepresented, both in driving and in management and maintenance positions."

PLAN EQUILIBRA

This campaign is part of the "Plan Equilibra", an ambitious program launched by ALSA last year with the aim of ensuring a balanced presence of men and women in the company.

In this line of work, during 2018 ALSA signed the "Code of Good Practices for the management of female talent", promoted by the Mashumano Foundation, and joined the European Commission's European Women in Transport Program to promote the employment and presence of women in the transport sector. In the field of training, it signed an agreement with the Madrid Employment Agency for the training of unemployed men and women in the driving profession.

Continuing with this commitment, this year the company has joined the "More women, better companies" initiative, promoted by the Secretary of State for Equality, to promote a balanced participation of women in the field of business management.
