ALSA successfully reduced its CO2 emissions by 3,596 tons in 2014.
Madrid, June 3rd.- The passenger transport company ALSA reports that throughout 2014 it has managed to reduce its emissions by 3,596 tons of CO2, thanks to the reduction in consumption obtained and the environmental policies developed by the operator.
Overall, the emissions savings obtained are equivalent to having planted 1,078,800 trees.
The environmental policies developed by ALSA are mainly based on the efficient driving training programs that the company provides to drivers, and the results of the Climate Project for the incorporation of hybrid vehicles into its fleet.
Due to these programs, ALSA has achieved a consumption reduction of 1.82% compared to the previous year, which is equivalent to 1,388,000 liters of diesel in all of its operations and in the 625 vehicles in its fleet that have on-board systems that help parameterize driving habits and, thereby, improve driving to reduce consumption and emissions.
Thanks to them and the involvement of driving personnel, the reduction in emissions achieved in 2014 was 14.22% higher than in 2013 (3,596 tons compared to 3,085 the previous year).
ALSA began personalized training in efficient driving in 2009, and each year it improves the results of previous years. In addition to training, this improvement has been achieved due to the on-board technology, with systems that drivers can monitor and consult to see the results obtained based on their driving style: acceleration, constant speed, use of the brake, etc.
With these policies, ALSA reinforces its commitment to managing sustainable transport that contributes to improving the quality of our environment.
