The new vehicle is a Mercedes-Benz Citaro with hybrid technology, thanks to which it emits 8.5% fewer emissions than a conventional bus. It is a unique vehicle in its concept, since it uses recovery modules for hybrid propulsion.

It is a very compact electric propulsion system: Thanks to its additional electric motor, while the bus is running, it recovers energy in braking and changes of slope in its "recovery" mode, achieving fuel savings of more than 8%, due to the electrical support to the traction.

ACCESSIBILITY

The bus has capacity for 54 passengers, 23 of them seated. Regarding accessibility for People with Reduced Mobility (PRM), it is equipped with a central double ramp (manual and electric), and has reserved space for two PRMs to travel in wheelchairs. The driving position has a new ergonomic design, which allows ideal conditions for the driver. It also has the latest active and passive safety systems, such as the active emergency braking system, which drastically reduces the speed in the event of a possible collision.

Line 12 A operated by ALSA performs 15 daily services and is used by more than 87,000 travelers each year in their daily journeys around the island.

With the incorporation of this new vehicle, ALSA advances in its commitment to improving the transport services it operates in Ibiza, offering all the inhabitants and tourists of the island a mobility that is increasingly safer, more accessible, and more sustainable from the environmental point of view.
