Graduation ceremony for the first class of the ALSA Training Center in Marrakech

It is the first accredited private center in Morocco to provide this training to drivers.

Marrakech, February 24, 2015.- The Minister of Transport of Morocco, Ahmed Najid Boulif, presided over the diploma awarding ceremony for the 16 students of the first class of professional drivers trained at the Training Center of the Spanish company ALSA in Marrakech.

This is the first private training center officially approved by the Ministry of Transport in Morocco to provide the Mandatory Qualification Training to professionals in the passenger transport sector.

This is a pioneering center in Morocco and its mission is to train professional drivers according to the requirements and qualifications established by the Moroccan state in Ministerial Decree Num. 2713 of December 23, 2010.

In this way, the ALSA Training Center in Marrakech offers specialized courses, both to company employees and external students, of Initial and Continuous Training for urban transport drivers, taxis and public transport vehicles with fewer than 15 travelers, as well as bridging training from driving freight transport vehicles to passenger transport.

The training center is located in ALSA's central facilities in Morocco. It has a teaching team made up of six experienced trainers-instructors and a state-of-the-art driving simulator is installed in its classrooms. This allows for highly specialized quality training in the different modes of transport, and benefits from the latest technologies applied to training, since thanks to the simulator students can carry out virtual practical sessions that improve their driving skills and competences.

With the awarding of diplomas to the first class of students, ALSA in Morocco is advancing in its strategic training plan, as a means to develop and improve the passenger transport sector in the Kingdom of Morocco, through greater professionalization and qualification of its professionals, improving their technical capabilities and road safety of operations.

ALSA'S TRAINING ACTIVITY IN MOROCCO

Aware of the importance of professional training for its employees, ALSA in Morocco has created its own training centers in the three cities in which it manages urban transport: Marrakech, Agadir (which has another driving simulator and is expected to be officially approved soon) and, since last year, in Tangier. In total, it has 12 trainers dedicated entirely to the different programs it teaches.

In 2014, 4,659 students participated in continuing education courses, with a total of 7,541 hours of training. Of these, 3,786 hours were specifically dedicated to implementing and improving safety procedures, and 2,192 to instructing new drivers in efficient driving.

For 2015, 5,319 participants are planned and a very notable increase in training hours up to 54,893 hours, taking into account the implementation in Morocco of mandatory annual training for all professional drivers, in a similar way to that implemented in other countries.

Thanks to this training activity and the significant resources that the company allocates to it, ALSA in Morocco hopes to contribute to an increase in the quality of service and the levels of customer service and safety of its operations in Morocco, and to the improvement of the entire transport sector in Morocco in its broadest sense.
