ALSA and Iberia boost Murcia's international connections with Bus & Fly
To this end, the Murcia bus station has been given an IATA code, similar to that of airports (EMU), which allows the capital of Murcia to be marketed as a destination from any travel agency in the world, Serviberia and www.iberia.com. This gives Murcia a greater international presence and access to new markets.
In fact, according to the data recorded since the beginning of this service in different Spanish, French, German, Italian and Swiss capitals, these are the destinations that have benefited most from this intermodality, both in terms of issuing and receiving passengers.
In addition, customers who choose this modality, both with departure and arrival in Murcia, will have the same travel protection conditions as a customer who makes connecting flights. Thus, for example, in case of loss of connection, since both sections are on the same ticket, the passenger would be placed on the next available flight.
Bus&Fly, the most advanced bus and plane intermodality in Europe
Bus&Fly is the most advanced intermodal product in Europe between bus and plane, because it can be purchased through the global reservation systems used by the entire tourism sector. Bus&Fly can also be purchased through Serviberia and www.iberia.com, which allows it to be booked and purchased conveniently, from anywhere and at any time.
In addition, Iberia and ALSA have established coordinated bus and plane schedules that are perfectly calculated so that the passenger has enough time to check in or collect their luggage at the airport, pass through security and make their connection.
In the case of Murcia, ALSA operates up to 6 daily frequencies with the T4 of Madrid, and 8 on the return journey, covering all time slots.
The Bus&Fly service already connects 12 Spanish destinations with the T4 and so far in 2018 has registered a growth of 79% compared to the same period of the previous season.
This also represents a further step towards intermodality in Barajas between different modes of transport, which translates into greater use of infrastructure and better territorial accessibility for Murcia.
