Buses and routes from
the Gijón Station

Public Transport Connections

Gijón Bus Station is the heart of mobility in this Asturian coastal city. Located in the El Humedal area, right in the city center, it offers total connectivity with the urban bus network and is just a few minutes away from the seafront and the Marina.

Urban Bus and Mobility

Gijón Buses (EMTUSA)

The terminal is surrounded by strategic stops of the local network (El Humedal and Plaza de Europa stops) which allow you to travel throughout the city:

  • Lines L1, L4, L10, L12, and L16: Connect the station with the neighborhoods of La Calzada, El Coto, Viesques, and the Cabueñes hospital area.
  • Line L15: Direct service linking the city center with the Piles area and El Molinón Stadium.

Railway Connection:

Gijón Station (Sanz Crespo), which offers Commuter (Cercanías) and Long Distance services (AVE/Alvia), is about a 10-minute walk away, facilitating intermodal transfer for travelers arriving from the center of the peninsula.

Recommended App: We advise using the Gijón EMTUSA app to check arrival times in real-time and plan your urban routes.

Connection to the Airport

The journey to Asturias Airport (OVD) from Gijón is very simple thanks to the direct service operated by Alsa:

  • Airport Bus (Alsa): Direct service with departures every hour. The journey takes approximately 45 minutes and stops directly at the airport's departure terminal.
  • Taxi: There is an official taxi rank in front of the station. Travel time is about 30-35 minutes via the A-8 motorway.

Car Rental

Gijón is the ideal starting point for exploring the Asturian Green Coast (Costa Verde), so the car rental offer is extensive around the station.

Available Companies

  • Nearby offices: You will find Hertz, Europcar, and Avis agencies located near the Sanz Crespo train station and in the Marqués de San Esteban street area.
  • Local services: There are various van and driverless vehicle rental companies in the city center's commercial hub.

Mobility Tip: If you plan to visit the Picos de Europa or the Covadonga area, we recommend booking your vehicle with pick-up at the office closest to the terminal to avoid unnecessary travel.
