Buses and routes from
León Station
Public transport connections
León Bus Station is a vital communications hub in northwestern Spain. Following its recent and ambitious remodeling, it has become a modern and efficient terminal which, together with the adjacent train station, forms the city's main intermodal axis, facilitating access to the historic quarter, León Cathedral, and the San Isidoro area.
Urban bus and mobility
León Urban Buses (ALESA)
The terminal is integrated into the local transport system with stops located on Avenida Ingeniero Sáenz de Miera and the surrounding areas:
- Line L2: Directly connects the station with the center (Santo Domingo) and the San Esteban neighborhood.
- Line L9: Service linking the bus station with the University Hospital of León.
- Line L7: Provides access to the Vegazana University Campus from the vicinity of the terminal.
Railway Connection (AVE and Long Distance):
The bus station is located adjacently to the León ADIF Train Station. Only a few meters separate both infrastructures, allowing immediate transfers to High-Speed trains (AVE) that connect with Madrid in just 2 hours, as well as with Asturias and Galicia.
Recommended App: We advise you to download the León Bus app to check arrival times in real time and plan your trips around the city.
Airport connection
Transfer to León Airport (LEN) from the station is quick due to the short distance between them:
- Metropolitan Bus: There is an intercity transport line that connects the center and the station with the airport terminal at Virgen del Camino.
- Taxi: The station has an official taxi rank operating 24 hours a day on the main facade. The journey takes approximately 10-15 minutes.
Car rental
León is the ideal starting point for exploring the El Bierzo region or the Leonese Mountains, so the private mobility offer at the intermodal hub is excellent.
Available companies
- In the intermodal complex: You will find counters for international agencies such as Avis, Europcar, Hertz, and Sixt located in the adjacent railway station.
- Station surroundings: Various van rental offices and local operators are located in the streets near Avenida de Astorga.
Mobility tip: If you are doing the Camino de Santiago and need a support vehicle, León station is the most convenient place to pick it up due to its easy exit to the A-231 highway (Autovía del Camino de Santiago).
