Buses and routes from
the Plasencia Station

Public transport connections

Plasencia Bus Station is the main logistical hub in northern Extremadura. Strategically located near the city center and the Sports City, the terminal facilitates fluid intermodal connectivity with both the historic center and the regions of Jerte, La Vera, and Las Hurdes.

Urban bus and mobility

Plasencia Urban Buses

The station has stops of the local transport network in its vicinity, allowing quick access to the key points of the municipality:

  • Line 1: Connects the station with the city center (Puerta de Talavera) and peripheral neighborhoods.
  • Line 2: Ideal for traveling to the commercial area, the Virgen del Puerto Hospital, and university centers.

Railway Connection:

The connection with the Plasencia Train Station (Medium Distance and Alvia services) is easily done by taxi or via urban bus lines, with a journey of just 5-8 minutes.

Mobility Tip: We advise you to check the updated schedules on the terminal's information panels to coordinate your transfers with the rural lines that run through the Jerte Valley.

Connection with airports

As it does not have its own airport, air connections from Plasencia are made through the nearest airports via road transport:

  • Madrid-Barajas Airport (MAD): This is the most frequent option. There are direct services and others with a transfer at the Madrid South Station (Estación Sur) with an approximate duration of 3h 30min.
  • Badajoz Airport (BJZ): Connection via regional bus with a transfer in the city of Badajoz.
  • Taxi: There is an official rank located outside the terminal for local and long-distance provincial travel.

Car rental

For those travelers wishing to explore the natural landscapes of the Monfragüe National Park or the neighboring regions, private mobility options are available.

Available companies

  • Station surroundings: Local agencies and pick-up points for national operators operate in the streets near the terminal.
  • Drop-off points: It is recommended to manage the reservation in advance to ensure the availability of pick-up at the station itself or in adjacent commercial premises.

Mobility Tip: If you plan to visit the natural pools of the Jerte Valley in high season, renting a car from Plasencia station is the most recommended option due to the time flexibility it offers.
