Buses with connection to Geneva Airport
Public transport connections
Pontevedra Bus Station has been recently renovated to integrate into a modern intermodal complex. Located next to the railway station and connected via a pedestrian bridge and a new humanized urban environment, it offers agile connectivity to explore the historic center of the City of Lérez and the entire Rías Baixas province.
Urban and metropolitan mobility
Pontevedra Buses
The terminal has stops of the urban and metropolitan transport network that allow fast travel through the city and surrounding towns:
- Line L1: Directly connects the station with the city center and the Monte Porreiro neighborhood.
- Line L2: Links the terminal with hospital and administrative areas.
- Metropolitan Transport: Frequent services connecting with Marín, Poio, Vilaboa, and Sanxenxo.
Railway Connection (Atlantic Axis):
The bus terminal is located adjacent to the Pontevedra Train Station. Via the intermodal bridge, travelers can access Media Distancia and Alvia trains in a few minutes, connecting with Vigo, Santiago de Compostela, A Coruña, and Madrid.
Recommended App: We advise checking the transport information of the Xunta de Galicia or the Pontevedra mobility website to verify schedules and routes in real time.
Airport connection
Pontevedra strategically uses the two closest airports in Galicia for its national and international connections:
- Vigo Airport (VGO - Peinador): Located only 30 km away, it is the fastest option. Accessible via regional bus services or train to Vigo and subsequent urban connection.
- Santiago Airport (SCQ): Connected by high-speed train to Santiago and shuttle bus, or via regional road services.
- Taxi: The station has an official taxi rank available 24 hours a day at the front of the terminal building.
Car rental
The intermodal terminal is the perfect starting point to explore the Rías Baixas, from O Salnés to Baixo Miño.
Available companies
- Inside the intermodal complex: You will find desks for agencies such as Avis, Europcar, and various local agencies near the train and bus station.
- Nearby services: Various car rental offices operate on Avenida de la Estación.
Mobility tip: If you are going to visit Arousa Island or the O Grove peninsula, renting a car at the intermodal station is the most flexible option due to the fast exit to the AP-9 motorway and the PO-11 highway.

Frequently Asked Questions about Pontevedra Station
The station closes at 23:30h, so you cannot wait inside after that time. If your bus leaves very early (e.g., 05:00 AM), the outside area has surveillance and there is a 24-hour taxi rank right at the main entrance for safe late-night transfers.
The terminal is organized into two levels: the upper lobby is for ticket sales and the shopping area, while the lower lobby focuses on dining services and access to the bus platforms.
In addition to the charging towers in the waiting area, if you travel on an Alsa Supra or Confort class bus, you will have USB connectors or individual sockets at your own seat throughout the journey.
It is not allowed.
Alsa allows the transport of sports equipment for a supplement (approx. €5-€10 depending on the route). You must check it in as special luggage, it must be packed (in a specific bag or box), and you must be at the platform 15 minutes before departure to place it in the trunk.
If you lost it at the station, go to the Information Point. If the item was left on the bus, you must contact the transport company directly. Unclaimed items after 4 weeks are sent to the municipal Lost and Found Office.
You must request the assistance service (PRM) at least 48 hours in advance through the website or phone of the company you are traveling with. The station has elevators and ramps connecting both levels to facilitate your access to the platforms.
You should check the digital screens located on both levels of the terminal. Platforms are usually divided by companies or destinations: the lower lobby gives direct access to the bay area, where each door indicates the platform number.
