R3CAV Project
Research of technologies and architectures for the development of a new autonomous, connected, robust, reliable and resistant vehicle
Start year: 2021 - End year: 2024
Organization: Centre for Technological Development and Innovation (CDTI)
Program: Sustainable Automotive Technology Program (PTAS 2021)
Project Description
The project consists of researching and developing new connected technologies, as well as designing and developing a new adaptable architecture, both hardware and software, of the future connected autonomous vehicle, capable of operating at different levels of autonomy, starting with advanced predictive driver assistance systems, up to fully autonomous driverless systems.
It has an approved budget of €8,453,973.00 and has been carried out by the consortium of companies integrated by RENAULT, ALSA, GMV-ASP, GMV-ITS, INDRA, MASMOVIL and MASERMIC.
Objectives and Results
Being part of the development process of an autonomous vehicle, added to the knowledge that Alsa contributes as a public transport operator, will help position the company as a benchmark in the national scene regarding the use of these technologies. To this end, Alsa leads one of the two challenges of the project, consisting of automating a platform that can circulate in highly complex traffic environments and that meets the needs of public transport users.
Funded by the European Union NextGenerationEU, framed within the National Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, supported by the Ministry of Science and Innovation and subsidised by the CDTI.
