Also concentrating a great historical heritage, you will visit the Royal Theater, the Almudena Cathedral and the Royal Fine Arts Academy of San Fernando.
La Latina and Lavapiés on the other hand are very popular for their large choice of typical bars where one can enjoy Madrid's exquisite cuisine and have a snack. Malasaña and Chueca are the foremost nightlife areas, as they witnessed "La Movida Madrileña" in the 1980s, a counter-cultural movement in which numerous artists flourished, giving this area a perfect atmosphere for the youth and the bohème, with lots of pubs and clubs where music is still at the spotlight.
