Passengers must carry original documentation or officially validated copies. In no case will photocopies be accepted.

National routes

On routes departing from and arriving at destinations in Spain, no documentation other than the booking reference is required. Other papers will only be required when:

  • You are making use of a special rate, such as “Youth” or “Over 60s”, in which case you will be asked to show ID proving that you are entitled to the fare.
  • If any personal discount has been applied to your fare (Large Family, Disability, Ministry of Defence, Unemployment, etc.), you will need to carry your ID card and documents that show that you are entitled to the discount.
  • When travelling with children under 12, who are given a 30% discount on ticket prices, or with a baby aged under 3, who travel free, you will be required to show documents that prove they are entitled to the discount.
  • Unaccompanied minors: Children under 12 travelling alone need to carry the following, along with their ticket:
  • When using the Babysitter Service: the child's ID (ID card, Family Record Book, etc.) and a copy of the Babysitter Service sheet, signed by an adult and validated by Alsa.
  • When using authorisation for unaccompanied minors: copy of the Authorisation Form signed by a parent or guardian and validated by Alsa.
  • When travelling with a pet or assistance dog, the animal's papers.

International routes

On routes departing from or arriving at points in Europe, passengers are required to carry the following documents:

  • EU passengers: ID card from their home country. Routes outside the EU: passport, visa and any other papers required at your country of destination.
  • Non-EU passengers should carry a passport, visa and any other papers required at their country of destination.

On routes departing from or arriving at points in Morocco, passengers must show a printed ticket.

Although you may be asked to show your papers while boarding, passengers alone are responsible for carrying the documents they need to travel in their countries of departure and destination and any countries through which the route passes. If in doubt, contact the Embassy of the country to which you are travelling.
