The Madrid Employment Agency and ALSA sign an agreement to train unemployed people

Marta Higueras, Delegate of the Government Area of Equity, Social Rights and Employment of the Madrid City Council, and Víctor Manuel López, General Director of the Spain Transport Division of ALSA, sign the agreement.
On behalf of the Employment Agency, the agreement was signed by Marta Higueras, Delegate of the Government Area of Equity, Social Rights and Employment of the Madrid City Council, and on behalf of ALSA, Víctor Manuel López, General Director of the Spain Transport Division.
The agreement establishes a general framework for the development of joint actions, taking advantage of the material and human resources of both entities, who establish a public-private relationship for greater efficiency in the incorporation of unemployed people into the labor market.
The first of these actions is the call for training and job placement courses for unemployed people and groups at risk of social exclusion in the profession of driver, since transport companies need professionals for the future and there are people likely to be professionally oriented to these demands based on professional retraining.
BUS AND CAR DRIVER
The three scheduled courses, for 15 students each, will be incorporated into the municipal employment training program 2018.
Two of them will be for obtaining the professional certificate of "Bus Driving", of 370 hours duration. The first of these two courses will be intended entirely for unemployed women.
The third course is aimed at obtaining the professional certificate of "Driving cars and vans", which enables professional driving of taxis, cars and vans, with a duration of 240 hours.
The corresponding complementary training actions will also be given to those selected students who do not have the Professional Aptitude Certificate (CAP) and / or the class D driving license.
ALSA guarantees the commitment to hire 40% of the trained students (minimum of six months full time or equivalent) and to facilitate the realization of the non-labor practice module.
All people interested in taking these courses, knowing the requirements and sending their applications, can contact the ALSA Selection service, through the email address: formacionmadrid@alsa.es, or the telephone 91 754 80 55.
COMMON COMMITMENT
The Madrid Employment Agency is an autonomous body attached to the Government Area of Equity, Social Rights and Employment of the Madrid City Council, and is empowered to perform labor intermediation tasks in order to increase the opportunities of unemployed people that enable their placement, as well as provide employers with the most appropriate people to their requirements and needs.
The passenger transport company ALSA, meanwhile, has launched the "Equilibra" program, with the aim of promoting the presence and integration of women within the company. In this sense, last May it signed the "Code of Good Practices for the Management of Female Talent and Improvement of Competitiveness in the Company" promoted by the Mashumano Foundation, and this July it has joined the "Women in Transport" program, promoted by the European Commission to promote employment in the transport sector and fight against discrimination based on gender.
Both entities are firmly committed to the labor insertion of unemployed people, so they consider that the realization of joint actions such as those contemplated in this agreement have a favorable impact on the achievement of this objective, by offering job opportunities in a sector such as road transport that currently demands drivers with adequate training and professional qualification.
