ALSA begins operations in Puerto Rico

Madrid, July 11, 2019. - Passenger transport company ALSA announces the start of operations in Puerto Rico, with a new transport route connecting the city of Caguas with the capital, San Juan, marking a further step in its commitment to international expansion.

The new line, with two routes, allows travelers to save considerable time in their journeys, as it is a totally reliable service in terms of schedules and frequencies, and offers an efficient solution to the usual traffic collapses on the island.

It runs along the bus lane of the PR52 and PR18 highways. It has a route of 30 kilometers, with a departure frequency between 30 and 60 minutes, in uninterrupted hours from 5.30 to 21.00 hours and has a rate from 2.50 to 4.00 dollars.

The new service is provided with high-capacity vehicles of the latest generation, which incorporate the latest technological advances in active and passive safety, comfort and respect for the environment, thanks to its low level of emissions.

NEW IN PUERTO RICO

The operation of a bus line of these characteristics is absolutely innovative in Puerto Rico, where public transport by bus is very underdeveloped, since the use of private cars is majority, due to the absence of an attractive public transport offer.

For ALSA this service is the beginning of an extensible project in the future to other corridors of the island, in order to improve the standards of bus transport in Puerto Rico, positioning it as a safe, economical, reliable and environmentally friendly mode of transport, which improves the quality of life of people, boosts the local economy and reduces congestion.
