This new contract has a duration of five years, extendable to six, and the start date will be next December 9. The expected turnover is 9 million euros in the first five years.

The awarded services are Line U (between Bossy and Chavannes des Bois, through Versoix, with a length of 12.6 km.) and Line Z (between Versonnex-Bossy and Genthod le Haut, through Bellevue, with a length of 11.3 km.) The two lines run through the metropolitan area of the canton of Geneva, and will be operated with 6 latest generation Mercedes-Benz Citaro hybrid vehicles, which guarantee minimum levels of polluting emissions.

With this award, ALSA becomes the first international transport group to win a tender called by TPG, prevailing over other relevant and historical companies in the canton of Geneva, and expands its portfolio of activities in the Swiss country with the incorporation of urban transport services. It is also the first urban services operation managed by ALSA in the European continent.

For ALSA, entering the urban transport market in Geneva means taking a further step in its strategy of implementation and growth in the French and Swiss markets, in which it has made a strong commitment in the last two years, with the acquisition of the companies Alpybus, Odier Excursions, GVAtransfers and Chamexpress, specialized in the provision of tourist and discretionary transfer services.
