ALSA incorporates a simulator into its training course for train drivers.

Madrid, May 9, 2019. - ALSA will incorporate a state-of-the-art railway simulator in the second edition of the training course for train drivers that it will offer, following authorization from the State Railway Safety Agency (AESF), starting next September at its Railway Training Center.

The installation of the simulator for the training of students has been carried out with the collaboration of the Railway Technology Research Center (CITEF), which is a world leader in the simulation reproduction of railway systems.

The second edition of the course to obtain the Railway Vehicle Driving License will be taught at the new headquarters of the ALSA Railway Training Center in Madrid and will last 11 months, during which students will receive the necessary training to carry out the work of driving trains, both passenger and freight, that circulate through the national network managed by the Railway Infrastructure Administrator (ADIF).

Following the good reception of the first course, the State Railway Safety Agency (AESF) has authorized the expansion of places, up to a total of 30, for this new course, whose registration period ends on July 17. This call appears at a key moment for the railway sector, since at the end of 2020 the liberalization of this market will take place, which means that different companies will be able to operate providing High Speed ​​and Long Distance services.

ALSA has been present since 2017 in the operation of passenger trains in its tourist modality, among which the Train of Felipe II stands out, a tourist train that connects Madrid and El Escorial. In February 2018, its Railway Training Center obtained approval from the AESF.
