Alsa will operate the buses for the first BRT (Bus Rapid Transit) system implemented in Morocco.

Marrakech, whose urban transport has been managed by ALSA since 1999, thus becomes the first city on the African continent to have a BRT system managed by a Spanish company.
The BRT (Bus Rapid Transit) is a transport system operated with high-capacity buses on reserved lanes (bus lanes).
This first BRT line is expected to transport 60,000 passengers per day in the third year of operation. ALSA will operate this line with 10 articulated buses owned by the local development consortium SDL (Société de Développement Local).
The main characteristic of these vehicles is that they are electrically powered, given the Marrakech City Council's strong commitment to promoting sustainable mobility, after the city hosted the Climate Summit (COP 2016) last year.
This first BRT axis runs between Bab Doukala and Iziki over an eight-kilometer route, allowing easy access to some of the main connection points fed by the city's urban network.
FIRST LINE
The first line of the BRT system will be completed in the coming years with the construction and commissioning of another three axes. The final fleet assigned to the BRT will be 45 articulated buses and 120 feeder vehicles to transport a total of 55 million passengers per year.
In 2008, ALSA presented the local authorities of Marrakech with a study proposing the creation of a BRT system in order to improve the efficiency of the existing urban transport system in Marrakech, a city with rapid urban and demographic growth in recent years.
ALSA has been present in Morocco since 1999, managing the urban transport of Marrakech. In addition, it currently also manages the cities of Agadir, Tangier and Khouribga.
