ALSA introduces new buses for the Reinosa-Santander route.

Santander, April 5, 2019. - This morning saw the presentation of one of the four vehicles being added to the ALSA-operated services between Santander, Torrelavega, and Reinosa. The event was attended by Francisco Martín, Minister of Industry, Innovation, and Tourism, and Felipe Piña, Director of Transport for Cantabria, representing the Government of Cantabria; and by Francisco Iglesias, CEO, and Víctor López, General Manager of Transport, representing the transport company.

The new vehicles are Setra 419 GT-HD models with 60 seats and Euro V engines, which guarantee minimal levels of polluting emissions. They are equipped with free WiFi and have a power outlet for every two seats and a USB port for each seat, so that travelers can recharge their mobile devices during the journey. They also have the ONdROAD individual on-board entertainment system.

ALSA operates a total of 16 daily services between Santander and Reinosa, of which eight are direct and another eight with stops (a total of 32 daily round trip services). These services are part of the K-8 Reinosa-Santander regional concession, which also includes the Santander-Torrelavega services, in which 68 daily round trip services are offered (30 of them with accessible seats for People with Reduced Mobility). As a whole, more than 800,000 travelers use these services each year.

With the incorporation of these four vehicles, together with the improvements implemented since last June, ALSA continues to improve regional transport in Cantabria, with the aim of offering public transport services that are increasingly attractive, safe, accessible and sustainable.
