Renfe and Alsa maintain their alliance to promote the combined use of bus and train travel.

The goal of the agreement is to promote intermodality. Combined Train + Bus tickets are created to reach Roquetas de Mar, Aguadulce, Javea, Denia, Andorra, and Vielha.

Madrid, January 29th. - The presidents of Renfe, Pablo Vázquez, and Alsa, Jorge Cosmen, signed an agreement this morning at Fitur that renews the agreements previously signed by both companies to promote the intermodality and operability of their respective commercial routes through the creation of combined train and bus tickets that allow extending the offer of Ave and Long Distance that Renfe makes to vacation destinations that do not have a rail connection.

Under the agreement, travelers whose destination is Andorra, Vielha, Javea, Denia, Roquetas de Mar, or Aguadulce will be able to purchase a single ticket to travel on Renfe trains to the stations closest to these locations where they can connect with Alsa services to these tourist destinations that do not have a rail connection.

Thus, in the case of Andorra and Vielha, customers who purchase the combined ticket will be able to travel on Ave trains from Madrid, and intermediate stations, to the Lleida station where they can connect with Alsa services to these tourist destinations.

As for Denia and Javea, travelers from Madrid and Barcelona will be able to travel by train to the Valencian station of Joaquín Sorolla from where they can reach these coastal towns on Alsa buses, and in the case of Roquetas and Aguadulce, the trains that make the Madrid-Almería journey are the first vehicle they will take to reach their destinations.

This intermodal offer allows guaranteed schedules, a fixed price, and a single ticket from origin to destination that contains the data of both journeys, guaranteeing the connection between the train and the bus and optimizing connection times as much as possible.
