Bilbao, July 17.- The road passenger transport company ALSA informs that this July it has completed the renewal of the fleet of coaches with which it operates its services between Bilbao and Madrid, with the incorporation of eight new latest generation vehicles, which has involved an investment of 2.8 million euros.
The vehicle selected has been the new Setra S-519 HD model, making ALSA the first operator in the country to incorporate this coach to carry out a long-distance route such as the Bilbao-Madrid.
All seats have individual 7” screens, from which travelers can access the new on-board entertainment system with a wide range of on-demand entertainment. Similar to the screens available in the seats of some airline planes, and with an operation identical to that of a tablet or smartphone, travelers can enjoy a wide selection of movies, TV series, music, games and ebooks.
With the entry into operation of the new fleet, ALSA improves the travel experience and the quality of service it offers to travelers from Bilbao, operating its route to Madrid with the most technologically advanced vehicles on the market.
LATEST GENERATION COACHES
The new model is one of the most recognized and innovative coaches, offers high levels of comfort and stands out for its safety, accessibility and respect for the environment.
In terms of safety, they have the most advanced active and passive safety systems on the market, such as: Electronic Pneumatic Brakes (EBS); Electronic Stability Control System (ESP); Anti-Slip System (ASR); Anti-lock Braking System (ABS); Adaptive Speed and Distance Control (ART); Lane Departure Detection Assistant (SPA) and Active Emergency Braking System (ABA2), which stops the vehicle by itself if it detects an obstacle on the road
The new coaches are accessible for People with Reduced Mobility (PRM) and integrate a lifting platform and space to locate up to two wheelchairs, to facilitate access and travel in perfect conditions for people in wheelchairs.
Regarding the environment, they are equipped with Euro VI engines, which guarantees low levels of emissions, and the thermal engine is equipped with an Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) system, Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) and Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR), using 7% biodiesel fuel.
With the incorporation of these new vehicles, ALSA continues to improve the levels of safety, quality and innovation in its services between Bilbao and Madrid. It currently operates 14 daily services arriving at the Avenida de América Station in Madrid, six of which are extended to Terminal 4 of Barajas Airport.
