Public transport connections

Barcelona Sants Station is the main logistical hub of Catalonia. Located in the Sants-Montjuïc district, the bus terminal is situated outside (Calle de Viriat), integrated with the railway station to offer unbeatable intermodal connectivity with the entire city and Europe.

Metro and urban bus

Barcelona Metro (TMB)

The "Sants Estació" metro station is one of the busiest and offers direct access to two of the network's main arteries:

  • Line 3 (Green): Direct connection to Plaza España, Paral·lel, Las Ramblas (Liceu), and Paseo de Gràcia.
  • Line 5 (Blue): Ideal for quickly reaching the Sagrada Familia, Hospital Clínic, or the Diagonal interchange.

Urban Bus:

Multiple lines of the TMB network stop in the immediate vicinity of the station (Plaza de los Países Catalanes and Calle de Viriat):

  • Line V7: Vertical service connecting Sarrià with Plaza de España.
  • Line H10: Horizontal axis that crosses the city from Badalona to Collblanc.
  • Lines 27 and 78 : Facilitate access to the upper areas of the city and the Diagonal axis.

Recommended App: We advise you to download TMB App or AMB Mobilitat to plan journeys in real time and buy digital tickets such as the T-Usual or T-Casual.

Connection to the airport

The journey to Barcelona-El Prat Airport (BCN) from Sants is extremely simple thanks to the various options available:

  • Commuter Train (Line R2 Nord): This is the most efficient connection to T2. It leaves every 30 minutes and the journey takes just 19 minutes. There is a free shuttle bus between T2 and T1.
  • Metro (Line L9 Sud): Although it does not depart directly from Sants, you can connect via L3 or L5 in just a few stops. Ideal if your destination is specifically Terminal 1.
  • Aerobús: The express service departs from nearby Plaza España (a 10-minute walk or 1 metro stop).

Car rental

As the central transport hub, the offer for private mobility is massive both inside the station and in the surrounding premises.

Available companies

  • Inside Sants Station: You will find Avis, Budget, Europcar, Hertz, Sixt, and Enterprise counters located on the main floor and in the car park.
  • Station surroundings: Local and carsharing agencies operate on Numància and Tarragona streets.

Mobility Tip: If you are picking up a rental car, make sure to verify if the office is in the "Departures" sector or in the outdoor premises on Viriat street.
